Best way to send money to international locations

I have been traveling a lot recently and have visited many places around the world. But wherever I go, I have to always look for some way to send money back to home for one thing or another, be it for loan payments, for buying some investments, or sending it to my family. I have tried and tested many different routes for money transfer, but there are always some catch involved in the transaction because of which I end up getting bad taste. Several times there are unexplained fees applied to the transaction, at other times it takes ages for completion of deposit in destination accounts, or the final rate of transfer is dependent on the day transfer is made, and at other times it is difficult to integrate your bank accounts to enable seamless transactions.  One time I was put in a very embarrassing position because of delay in money transfer on account of the money transfer service provider.

However, all my problems are solved for now. Recently I discovered a wonderful way to transfer money to many international locations, example from USA to India. This website is very transparent, user friendly and fast with funds transfer. The name of this service provider is XOOM

It charges no transfer fees if transfer is above a certain amount ($1000 for USA to India, other routes vary), takes 1 business day to complete transfer, and enables you to be on top of money transfer status. It also provides facility for receiver to track the transaction alleviating problems of explaining delay from your head. And more, it provides you a fixed exchange rate unlike other money transfer service providers.

And whats more, once you complete your 1st transfer after visiting below link, you receive $25 free Amazon gift card (present promotion). So what are you waiting for. Here is the link: XOOM.

Remember, only via clicking on above link and thereafter transferring money for first time makes you eligible for $25 Amazon gift. I also get $25 GC for 1st transaction you make as referral bonus. And you can also get the same if you refer your friends to Xoom. Now this makes XOOM even more attractive.

In case you dont believe all this, below is the Amazon Gift Card I received for my 1st referral:

Unlocking the power of Facebook Groups for Corporates

Facebook group in an oversight is just another place to share information. You can create your own group of our relatives, friends, and classmates, use it to share news, pictures, videos, group mails, group chats and events or even share your documents. But if you are quite innovative and have insight to look beyond the obvious things, you can find several useful uses of Facebook Groups, whether for an individual or a business or a corporate entity. So since I myself started a Facebook Group for managing my office community, I started to put together a list of innovation stuff you can do utilizing complete capabilities and features of Facebook Groups. Below is the output of my analysis, research and experience with Facebook Groups-

First off, let us go through the basics of Facebook Groups-

Facebook Group Basics-

Facebook Group by default is a closed space and you can make them secret or open. Each group is controlled entirely of its members, though you need to be an admin to control it without any hindrance. Once the members are participating in groups, the most viewed ones will be automatically available on the left side for easier access. For better security you can change your group to secret mode.

When a Facebook Group member posts something to wall, every one in the group will receive a notification regarding that post. Since the information is posted in your own group and is available to your group members you can feel comfortable about your information and about who are going to see that post.

One of the great features of Facebook Group is that all the members in a group do not need to be friends of each other, thus it is very easy to maintain a group and remain focused on the purpose of the Facebook Group. Now that we are talking purpose, lets look below some of the innovative reasons you would want to use Facebook Group for:

Creative use of Facebook Groups:
      1. Create a Office Team Community
If you work in a company like mine, you would have your team mates working across the planet and you would need to collaborate due to various reasons. For such a situation, Facebook Group seems like a perfect fit.
Create a Office group, invite all the members and start collaborating. This is one of the prime purposes I am using my own Facebook Group for.
We are driving a lot of things through our office team Facebook Group, some of which are
- Replacement of monthly newsletter via on-demand updates at Facebook Groups
- Communication related to team changes, new members, new happenings for our company
- Driving innovation in our company through sharing of ideas
- Collaborating on several tasks through sending status updates and tracking action items on Facebook Groups
- Use group chat facility from Facebook Group
- Replacement to E-mail where we send a group mail to all of our group members without missing anyone

      2. Create a Family Facebook group
If you are from a family which was united once and used to eat, play & live together, and for some reason most of the members have moved to different places, again Facebook Group can help you connect to your loved ones. I can relate to this need, since I used to live in a big joint family, and now all the members of my family are living across different continents (Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe). Because of this distance, it becomes very difficult to constantly stay in touch.
So if you want, you can create a Facebook for your family and even include family friends in it. You can use it for a lot of stuff; some from top of my mind are below:
- Share personal photos
- Chat will multiple members of family using group chat feature of Facebook Groups
- Send mass updates on personal news like birth, promotion, transfer etc..

      3. Create a Facebook Group for your interest / passion
If you have a passion, be it games, blogging, photography or even sleeping, you can create a Facebook Group for the same and invite your friends who share this passion. Once you have created your group, you can start sharing your thoughts, ideas or any news related to your interest on the Facebook group and invite other people on Facebook or internet to join your group.
If you put more people in your Facebook Group, something productive would definitely come out. Even if nothing productive comes out, you would be amazed by how many people share the same interest as you.

So these were some of the uses of Facebook Group which I could think of. If you have any thoughts on how else we can use Facebook Group, dont shy away from sharing your thoughts through comments.

Top 10 Facebook Applications for Work & Professional uses

While 99% of Facebook's 500+ million users waste part of their days growing virtual crops or committing imaginary crimes, there are several Facebook applications developed to actually improve business productivity.
I have filtered and screened those applications from the huge application space of Facebook and put together below a list of top 10 such applications:

Design your Facebook Page-

Pagemodo Pagebuilder is a free tool that lets individuals and businesses design a Facebook page without any arts skills. You can add photos, embed video, change the fonts and text and showcase their products on their Facebook pages, using Pagemodo's templates. Facebook Page making doesn't get easier than this .

Read Write Reviews-
The RatePoint app is for those who have specific products & services to provide and would want to have customer reviews posted on their business fan page. Since most of the customers view reviews online about a particular service, product, or business and make buying decisions based on such reviews rather than advertisements, this application is must have for any business fan page.

Conducting Polls

Several apps can get this work done, but one that stands out is Polldaddy, which is widely used both as a social media marketing and customer engagement strategy. Its simple-
- Create a poll for your page
- Ask a question
- Provide two to four answers
- And publish / post
Check the results and post them on your page. This social media marketing tool can help you kickstart a new campaign and gives you ideas based on the results.

Collaborate at Work-
Huddle is a collaboration tool which users can merge on Facebook, allowing businesses and individuals to create secure workspaces, or huddles. Within this huddle, a group can schedule tasks, share files and approve actions. Using Facebook, Huddle users can add team members and update profiles. Whats great is that Huddle also has a BlackBerry and iPhone app for mobile friendly users. The Facebook app is free which is not so for its standalone tool.

Share your ideas and presentations-
SlideShare enables you to share presentations and documents with their Facebook network (of course you can select whom to share with). Apart from sharing you can edit presentations and even embed YouTube videos into presentations or add audio to create a Webinar. The Slideshare account holders can import existing presentations into Facebook and the application supports all formats including ppt, pps, pptx, odp, pdf, doc, docx, odt, Keynote and iWork pages.
SlideShare, which has 400,000+ monthly users offers a free, personal account (with ads) and also offers a professional version for $14 a month, a business edition for $36 a month and an enterprise version for $249 per month. Paid versions have no ads and provide additional features such as analytics, buzz tracking and capturing of leads.

Create a E-Store-
Payvment E-Commerce Storefront facilitates creation of virtual storefronts on Facebook for Free. This is one of the most useful tool which lets e-tailers sell an unlimited number of items and includes built-in and full-featured storefront administrative capabilities. Whats great is that this gets launched in minutes and supports multiple currencies, languages and payment options. No wonder it is used by 400,000+ Facebook users.

Buy / Sell / Rent stuff-
Marketplace is a online classified ad-space for Facebook, where people can post free ads and search millions of classified ads for used cars, jobs, apartments, real estate, pets, tickets and just about everything. Same as CraigsList, there is no fee for listings, which appear both online and via social media sites, and are seen by millions users monthly. Marketplace's developer company Oodle also offers a business service, Oodle Pro, that features smooth syndication across Oodle, Facebook, MySpace and other websites and analytics that enable companies to measure the effectiveness of listings and social media leads.

Create To-Do List and Maintain Calendars-
You can keep track of colleagues and maintain your schedule using 30 Boxes calendar utility. Like other applications I have put here, this is also a free Facebook application that allows you to share your schedule with select individuals or even their entire Facebook network. 30 Boxes calendar app also includes simple SMS reminders and an integrated to-do list.

Automate updating of your business page from your Blog or News Site
If your business maintains a blog and you would want to constantly update your Facebook business page with the content, then you can add  all-in-one app Social RSS which can be configured to automate updates from any type of RSS feed that creates a post on a business page, on a tab, at the top of the page or on your wall. If you want to keep informed of other blogs in your industry or track trends, even then you will find this Facebook application handy.

Stay in Contact with your network-
If you are like me then you find it really hard to keep in touch with your contacts due to your busy schedule, then you can use SocialFly Facebook App. Using SocialFly you can create notes about your online contacts, setup reminders to talk to them, and manage your contacts better. From daily reminders to shorthand notes, Socialfly is one of the best way to remember and stay in touch with everyone that matters. And yes, this is also free. Great Facebook app for keeping up with your business contacts.

How to use Facebook as Professional platform

When anybody speaks of Facebook, the first thing that mind relates it to is Social Network or Friends. Hardly 1% of us will have one of the thoughts about Facebook aligned with office or work. But those who know how handy and powerful Facebook is for office and work, will definitely advertise the benefits of this great platform for transforming work environment to a better and enjoyable place.

In fact, there are several Fortune 500 companies which recognize Facebook as a productive space and don't block access to it in their offices for their employees. Fortunately, the company I work for is one of those. So if you are interested to leverage Facebook as a work platform, then read below the top 5 ways to do so:

1. Top 10 Useful Facebook Applications for Professionals
Let us admit! There are over 200,000 applications for Facebook at the time I am writing this, but less than 0.01% are oriented towards business and professional community. Makes sense since Facebook started as a social network and it will take a lot of effort & time to transform or adapt it for sophisticated business or professional uses. But there are some applications available on Facebook which make life of a professional easier. I have filtered and screened those applications from the huge application space of Facebook and put together Top 10 Facebook Applications for Work & Professional uses. Click the above link to read the details.

2. Use of Facebook Groups feature to collaborate and communicate
Facebook launched Groups feature not a very long time back, yet it has caught attention of lot of business groups and professional community. On a personal front, it has already found use in college communities, closed friends networks and even non profit / government organizations. If you are wondering how / why these organizations are using this feature and how you can make use of it, click on the link - Unlocking the power of Facebook Groups.

3. Marketing ourselves as individuals
When it comes to marketing ourselves as individuals, social media is the best possible way to do it. Recruiters have followed up with the social media trend and have also made use of social media to support all their recruiting efforts. One of the research has even shown that most companies are using LinkedIn as their primary tool to find their employees and Facebook is also used extensively by companies to get to know prospective employee better. Companies spend a lot of money whilst putting out job advertisement; social media drives costs down and has more return on investment if used appropriately.

How one can leverage Linkedin for professional purpose is no guess game, but if you are interested to know how you can use Facebook for 'self marketing', then click on the link- Market yourself using Facebook.

4. Create a Facebook Page for your business
If you have a business, and are looking for want to promote it, then dont miss out creating a Facebook Page for your business. Add regular events, tell your customers to like your Facebook page, put it all over your own profile, and do what not. The power of Facebook Pages is such that if you do these things only, you will see your business getting popular at the speed of light. Now if you are interested, there are a lot more things you can do with your Facebook Page, which I have covered in the following link, so click- The power of Facebook Pages for your business.

5. Advertise your brands and products on Facebook

A couple of years back, if you had a brand website or even a product, then one of the best options for advertising it on the internet was Google Search Engine, through Google Adwords. Then Youtube followed the trend but one had to invest time and effort to come up with some sort of viral video clips. But if you want to target niche market, these options were not very useful, and this is where Facebook Network advertising comes into play.
Facebook is the top social networking portal online and for a very good reason- The number of users on this social site are growing in large numbers, making it the perfect place to advertise your product or service. You are going to benefit tremendously from advertising and marketing in Facebook, even if you have any niche market, from offering business cards online to promoting window blinds to providing even free automotive insurance estimates.  If you want to know how you can use Facebook to advertise your business in a cost effective yet targeted manner, then you should click on the article I have posted right here- Targeted Yet Cost Effective Advertisements through Facebook.

Increase Body Alkalinity to Lose Weight

The efficiency of the body's immune system, cardiovascular systems, bone health and even metabolism are dependent on the delicate alkaline and acid balance of blood and cell fluids in the body, which is measured on a scale known as pH. The pH for optimal health falls between 6.8 and 7.1. The good news is that the acid-alkaline balance can be affected by your dietary and lifestyle choices, which makes it fall right under your control.

It is generally suggested that increasing your alkalinity helps your body function more efficiently in general, which may ultimately lead to weight loss specifically. If you are wondering what may help you to increase alkalinity in your body then read on the below pointers which will definitely help you do that and also reduce some fat:

1. Drink 3-4 liters water every day- Proper hydration helps remove acids inducing toxins from your body

2. Eliminate foods that severely raise your pH level's acidity: all flours, most grains, white bread, white sugar, white rice, soy noodles, soy bread, pastas, oatmeal, dried beans, corn, beets, cheese, homogenized milk, peanuts, pork, shellfish, chocolate, sweetened fruit juice and cranberries. Also eliminate alcohol, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, tobacco and unnecessary OTC drugs.

Reduce foods that moderately raise your pH level's acidity: butter, cream, margarine, lard, brown rice, buttermilk, eggs, liver and other organ meats, fish, fowl, plums, prunes, brown sugar, honey, coconut, jellies and jams, pecans and hazelnuts, grapes, ketchup, sour cream and tofu. Also, keep in mind that some B vitamin supplements raise your body's acidity level.
- A balanced diet consists of only 35 percent acid-forming foods.

3. Eat more foods that increase your body's alkalinity: string and green beans, moderately ripe bananas, dandelion in the form of greens or tea, dates, figs, prunes, raisins, dried peaches, plums, pomegranates, apples, melons, lemons, limes, grapefruit, berries, avocado, Swiss chard, spinach, carrots, chives, endive, kale, zucchini, sweet potatoes, maple syrup, stevia, most herbs, garlic, onion, herbal teas, almonds, olive oil, flax seed oil, canola oil and yogurt containing acidophilus.
- Most fruits and vegetables have an alkalizing effect on the body.
- Choose organic foods whenever possible.

4. Counter the daily assault of stress and its negative effect on your body's pH balance by exercising every day. Have a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate cardiovascular exercise a day, most days of the week. Increase this time to 60 to 90 minutes per day to aid in weight loss and to reduce the risk of diseases. Also include resistance exercise (weightlifting) in your routine, as well as mind/body exercise, such as yoga and meditation, which promotes relaxation.

Last  but not the least, you can self-monitor your pH levels daily or weekly by purchasing a pH test strip home kit, which is available at some drugstores and most alternative health stores and websites.

Metabolism Boosting Foods & Lifestyle

I find it really annoying to compare myself with people who can eat whatever they want and their metabolism works faster to keep them slim. Not all of us are genetically blessed to have high metabolism, but we have natural ways to boost the metabolic rate of our body. And its a fact that there is no better way to speed up fat burning rate than to increase your metabolism and the good news is that there are a variety of foods at your disposal that may help to increase your metabolic rate. Below is the list of foods which comprises of metabolism boosting elements:

1. High fiber foods– plant based foods are difficult to digest and therefore our body has to use extra calories to burn them. Some of the good examples are apples and grapefruits which are low in calories and high in fiber. Others worth adding in your list are spinach, beans, broccoli, and other green leafy vegetables which are best eaten in raw form to get the complete health benefits.

2. Omega 3 fatty acids– fishes like salmon and tuna contain ingredients in form of omega3 fatty acids that can alter the levels of leptin, a hormone which helps in metabolism process. The higher the leptin level, the faster the metabolism will be. So have regular intake of tuna fish and fish oils in your food to automatically reduce weight.

3. Spices– certain spices, like jalapenos or chili pepper, contain capsaicin chemical which (in spicy meals) can increase metabolism by 25%, as it can generates heat and speeds up the heart rate.

4. Rich in calcium such as low fat milk, oatmeal and whole grain cereal– calcium, complex carbohydrates and fiber can lower the insulin levels after eating fats which prevents body against storing fat and burning fewer calories with same effort.

5. Caffeine and EGCG beverages– caffeine in coffee increases the heart rate and speeds up process of burning calories. While epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG in green tea can also speeds up the nervous system and are linked to quick metabolism rate.

The rule of the thumb in faster metabolism is the fast rate of heart beat.

***please take note to limit the caffeine intake into 1-2 glasses of coffee a day.

Aside from the abovr list of food to increase metabolism, do take into account a healthy lifestyle. So below are some tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep metabolism high and body slim:
1. Never skip breakfast- Skipping breakfast to lose weight is the downfall of many dieters
2. Have low caloric food- Low caloric intake of foods can help to raise metabolism rate naturally.
3. Drink lots of water and avoid too much alcohol, and sugary foods.
4. Build muscles through daily exercise, since it increases metabolism naturally

Increase metabolism naturally to get slim

Most of us fighting hard to lose fat and weight are taking the wrong approach towards their goals. Wherever one has a flab, be it stomach, arms, thighs or any other place, its almost impossible to lose fat unless you demystify how your metabolism works.

Metabolism, in layman's terms, is the process behind breaking down the food, giving you all the energy that your body needs to maintain itself. Several of us try to increase our metabolism in order to speed up process of weight loss, but many of us do it wrongly. So if you are wondering "How To Increase Metabolism?", then first you should know what impacts metabolic rate.

Now there are some factors which you can not change like age, height or genes, but still there are lot of things in your control to speed up your metabolism:
1. The ph level of your body– Keeping our body’s pH near 7 (Alkaline and not acidic) is essential for your cellular metabolism to work at optimal level.  Acidic state of body affects the state of your cells and your cells would stop functioning and die in highly acidic environment. So 1st step is to ensure that you have your body at alkaline levels. Now here is a link for you to find out stuff you can eat / drink to keep your body alkaline- "Increase body alkalinity to lose weight".

2. Day to day activities– If you do exercises / activities which builds muscles, your metabolism rate would increase automatically. So ensure having some weights or machine exercises along with cardio to speed up getting to the slim state.

3. The food which you eat– what you eat over a period of time determines the presence of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that will affect your metabolism rate. Your digestion system determines how well your body absorb the foods and metabolize the energy as well. Here is a link for you to find out food to boost your metabolism- "Metabolism Boosting Foods and Lifestyle".

4. Emotional health – Your emotional state plays a big factor in your body metabilism rate. Basically if you are emotionally happy and satisfied, you will generally have good metabolism rate and thus if you cope up with your stress well, you will significantly boost metabolism.

5. Having more enzymes in your body can also improve your digestion as well as increase your metabolism rate. When any food is eaten, enzymes are released in saliva to help digestion. Enzymes play a very important role in breaking down the proteins, fats and carbohydrates into amino acids, fatty acids and glucose.

To cut things short, 3 things that you would want to do to increase your metabolism are
- eating metabolism boosting foods
- exercising and building muscles
- staying emotionally happy

Quickly lose fat & weight to get slim easily!!

Are you having weight loss as one of the resolutions this year but are not seeing any results till now even after doing something about it?
Do you watch those skinny models in TV soaps or movies and wonder how to get there without much effort and sacrifice?
Do you ever feel guilty after having a big meal since you promised yourself to cut those carbs and fat for a certain period of time?
Can you relate to the cartoon on the left?

If you feel that any of the above questions would have answer as "Yes" for you, then you are at the perfect place on this website. Why?- because over 75% of the people in this world are having the same situation as you, but you may find a solution for it over here. I have done it and have lost 10 pounds so far over last 2-3 months and am under 170 pounds from 180.

First let us look at top 5 myths and misguidance you would have heard about quick weight loss upto now so that you can stop drooling over those:
Myth #1- Dont eat a lot otherwise you would get fat
Myth #2- Work out hard to burn fat fast - Its all about calories you burn!
Myth #3- Workout before bedtime to get slim fast
Myth #4- Two short workouts are equal to one long one
Myth #5- Weight loss is all about percentage of fat burned during a workout

Now take a few minutes to go over the above myths and remove those from your mind, and once you have done so, read below to find out what you can do to cut fat fast and effectively.

Workout must knows to cut fat fast:
1. Don’t obsess over calories burned. For best results just keep your workouts short (no more than 1 hour) and intense.
2. Stay away from exercise “splits” and stick to one intense workout 4 days a week. By doing this you will feel better (and burn more fat) by having no more than one intense workout per day and letting your body fully recover.
3. Work on increasing metabolism as detailed in this article- "Increase metabolism naturally to get slim".
For those of you that don’t know, your metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories for energy. If you increase your metabolism, you’ll burn more calories and flab will melt off at an accelerated rate.

Diets must knows to reduce weight easily:
Since I am assuming that you are working out about 1 hour intensly as mentioned above, and are also working up to increase your metabolism, based on this, you need to have 4-5 short meals a day prefferably after every 4 hours. Following are some of the tips for each meal:
1. Breakfast (around 8-9 AM)- Shuffle between fruits, juices, oats, egg whites and low fat milk for breakfast. Eat to live and not to stock-up for whole day. Remember that you are going to eat again after just 4 hours.
2. Lunch (around 12-1 PM)- Eat whatever you like, just dont overeat.
3. Evening bites- Have something very light to have it digested till you hit the Gym.
4. Dinner- Again while having something light, have only whole cereal grains
Basically keep it simple and light. Have 5 pounds milestones set for yourself for treating once in a while.

To summarize, have intense workout for less than an hour 4-5 days a week, and have 4-5 short meals a day. I have been following the above and have lost 10 pounds so far over last 2-3 months and am under 170 pounds from 180.

If you have any better tip worth sharing, dont hesitate to share it in comments and if these tips work for you, do share your weight-loss story to inspire our brothers from another mothers.
